california poppy herbal question?

what parts of the poppy do you use for medical use? i hear it acts as a slight anti depressent and relaxer if true what part is used..and i found this researching “Extract from the California poppy acts as a mild sedative when smoked. The effect is far milder than that of opium, which contains a different class of alkaloids.” how do u make the extraction and what part is used….thank you
btw the bulb is i no bigger than a dime
to add some bulbs where like pencils didnt become round at all
